"Rustic" means rural, or simply made, and the Rustica is both! A 4” thick maple butcher block sits on a base comprised of a maple apron with drawer(s), a solid maple shelf and classically carved legs. The base comes in 9 different stain and paint finishes and in two sizes. The smaller 30” x 24” model comes with a single sliding drawer; the larger 48” x 24” size includes two drawers. Both versions stand 34.5” tall.
You’ll instantly pick up 5 or 8 square feet of counter-level work space, and not just any work space. This butcher board is superior quality 4” thick, durable rock maple crafted in end grain style. Maple’s light tans and soft browns make it a beautiful complement for a range of kitchen styles and looks. End-grain tops further enhance the beauty of maple wood. Specifically, the checkerboard-like design that distinguishes end-grain is a composite of sawed ends (hence the name). Each square contributes a unique grain-print to the table’s intricate top. The highly fibrous surface provides another important advantage: it’s able to absorb slashes from sharp knives without dulling them and without suffering much surface damage. For added protection, the block comes coated with Boos Board Cream that combines mineral oil with natural beeswax. Going forward, you'll want and need to protect your new board by recoating it regularly with Boos oil or cream, or both. Oil is better for deep penetration of wood, and cream is great for leaving a protective, waxy coating.
Make a design statement by choosing a bold color such as barn red or caviar black, among others. Or if you prefer understated design, consider a more subdued color. The table’s shelf will match the top, as it is always a natural color. You’ll find it a great place for storing and displaying tasteful kitchen pieces. And the Rustica’s dovetailed drawer (two drawers on the larger size) makes a perfect place for frequently used kitchen tools and utensils. Models CUCR04-SHF and CUCR05-SHF

Boos will either repair or replace a product determined to be damaged or defective. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from normal wear and tear, accidents, abuse, neglect, misuse, alterations* or exposure to extreme conditions. Nor does it pertain to wood products ordered unfinished. Neither Boos nor Butcher Block Co. will be held liable for any loss or damage arising from use of products or for any consequential damages.
*Cutting into a Boos countertop (e.g., trimming its length or width or executing a miter cut or a cutout) will void the manufacturer's warranty.
Boos & Co. warrants that the exact length, width and thickness of any countertop will not vary from specifications by more than 1/8 of an inch.
If you decide to cancel your order, please call us immediately. Typically, we are able to cancel an order and issue a full refund if production of the item(s) has not yet begun. If an order is already “in production,” it cannot be canceled for any reason.
If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason, you may return or exchange it within 30 days of the date of purchase. A 20% restocking fee will apply, since all John Boos products are made-to-order. Plus, you will be responsible for return shipping costs. Boos custom countertops cannot be returned or exchanged, unless the goods arrived in damaged condition and you wrote the word "Damaged" on the shipping receipt.
If you find the identical, brand-new product for less (including shipping & handling) on another website within 3 days of your purchase, email us the URL of the webpage where you found the lower-priced offer. If the online seller is an authorized John Boos dealer, we will refund the difference. Butcher Block Co. will not always be able to match a lower-priced offer (e.g., in cases where doing so would violate legal agreements between us and our manufacturer-partners) and any refund may be limited (e.g., in cases where the competing offer is below our total cost).
