Countertops are the first thing people notice about a kitchen
There are so many gorgeous counter top materials to choose from. As you might guess from our name, we prefer butcher block counter tops. Ours are made in Effingham, Illinois by John Boos & Company, the legendary maker of Boos
Blocks dating back more than a century. The craftsmen at Boos use only the finest U.S. hardwoods, like Hard Rock Maple, American Black Walnut, Appalachian Red Oak and American Cherry.
We love butcher block counter and island tops because they're practical, as well as stylish
There's no better surface for rolling and kneading dough, in particular. And while we recommend that you use a wooden cutting board rather than cut directly on the surface of a butcher block countertop, feel free to slice and dice on it to your heart's content.
Design your own custom butcher block counter top or kitchen island top.
Choose from among a variety of beautiful hard woods available in a wide range of standard sizes. Our standard size countertops come in widths ranging from 25 to 48 inches, and lengths up to 145 inches. Or if a standard size won’t fit your needs, we can make you a custom countertop in your wood of choice, of a thickness as small as 1.5” and as large as 7”, with the grain style you prefer – edge grain, end grain or blended grain (certain limitations apply). Regardless of whether you select a standard or custom size, we can add
whichever edge style will best complement your kitchen: Radius, Bevel, Bullnose or Roman Ogee. We offer other add-on options like backsplashes and semi-gloss varnish finishes.
