Curbside Liftgate Service
Freight carriers typically offer merchandise unloading service for an additional fee. The equipment they use is known as a Liftgate.
A liftgate is a moving platform system that's attached to the back of a truck and used to facilitate the movement of goods from the truck bed to the ground.
If Curbside Liftgate service shows as an add-on option for a product you intend to purchase, you may add it to your order during checkout, or at a later time by contacting us.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Liftgate service only entails movement of goods from the truck bed to the curb and not into a garage, house or business.
-
Liftgate service is not always an available option. For instance, not all delivery trucks have liftgate equipment installed. Also, the driver is not required to use the liftgate if, in his judgment, the goods are too unwieldy (heavy or oversized) to safely unload via the liftgate.
- If you order liftgate service but the delivery truck lacks liftgate equipment or the driver deems its use unsafe, we will happily refund the cost of the liftgate service, of course. But it’s important that you understand that YOU are responsible for getting the goods off the truck, one way or another. Butcher Block Co. is not in position to arrange for special delivery or third-party unloading, nor will we reimburse any related expense you incur.
