The Le Rustica conjures up visions of the Folies Bergère during La Belle Époque, when the arts flourished and peace prevailed in France. Just as the Folies wowed crowds in the late 1800s, this flashy table will wow guests in your home with its luscious cherry wood top on decorative spindle legs. It’s available in two sizes - 30”L or 48”L x 24”W (deep) – either of which will make a striking addition to your kitchen, dining room or foyer.
Cherry is a premium hardwood whose patina darkens over time to imbue warmth and richness. Since this block is end-grain style, it presents a checkerboard-like surface that is visually captivating. Each rectangular “game space” reveals a grain pattern and color signature all its own. Not only does an end-grain surface make a beautiful “wood tapestry,” it also makes an excellent cutting surface. You can use Le Rustica’s top for all your food preparation chores – from slicing fruit to dicing vegetables, and from rolling dough for bread or cookie making to chopping meat. That’s because its surface is firm, smooth and resilient. The wood fibers that make up the block’s surface go easy on knives and tend not to show many gouges or nicks.
Boos applies its special formula to each butcher block to help lock in moisture. You can, and should, do the same at home. Mystery Oil is great for getting moisture back into dried-out wood, and Board Cream with beeswax leaves a protective, silky coat on the wood’s surface. You should apply one or both of these products about once a month in order to preserve your table’s beauty and extend its life. Think about adding block cream and/or oil to your cart.
The stark contrast between its cherry top and its black base, apron with drawers and shapely legs draws attention to each, in the same way that the cherry knobs on both dovetailed drawers attract the eye. The 30”L model includes a single drawer, whereas the 48”L size comes with two. Whether one or two, you’ll undoubtedly love the added storage space and convenience. Boos will either repair or replace a product determined to be damaged or defective. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from normal wear and tear, accidents, abuse, neglect, misuse, alterations* or exposure to extreme conditions. Nor does it pertain to wood products ordered unfinished. Neither Boos nor Butcher Block Co. will be held liable for any loss or damage arising from use of products or for any consequential damages.
*Cutting into a Boos countertop (e.g., trimming its length or width or executing a miter cut or a cutout) will void the manufacturer's warranty.
Boos & Co. warrants that the exact length, width and thickness of any countertop will not vary from specifications by more than 1/8 of an inch.
If you decide to cancel your order, please call us immediately. Typically, we are able to cancel an order and issue a full refund if production of the item(s) has not yet begun. If an order is already “in production,” it cannot be canceled for any reason.
If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason, you may return or exchange it within 30 days of the date of purchase. A 20% restocking fee will apply, since all John Boos products are made-to-order. Plus, you will be responsible for return shipping costs. Boos custom countertops cannot be returned or exchanged, unless the goods arrived in damaged condition and you wrote the word "Damaged" on the shipping receipt.
If you find the identical, brand-new product for less (including shipping & handling) on another website within 3 days of your purchase, email us the URL of the webpage where you found the lower-priced offer. If the online seller is an authorized John Boos dealer, we will refund the difference. Butcher Block Co. will not always be able to match a lower-priced offer (e.g., in cases where doing so would violate legal agreements between us and our manufacturer-partners) and any refund may be limited (e.g., in cases where the competing offer is below our total cost).
