A Professional Boos Chopping Block, 6 Inches Thick
This 6” thick maple end-grain John Boos chopping block is designed for serious cooks as well as professional chefs. It can be ordered in any of four different sizes: 24 or 30-inch squares, or rectangles measuring 30” by 24” or a monster 40” by 30”. Regardless of which size you choose, you’ll find this pro-model chopping board sturdy enough to handle the biggest of food prep tasks. Whether you use it to disjoint a chicken or to crack a lobster’s shell, this block won't budge.
It's a Maple Chopping Block of End-Grain Style
It's made of hard rock maple and assembled using end-grain style. End-grain boards are strong, durable and built to last many years, even under the toughest of conditions. These blocks are made from 6-inch-long strips of maple wood standing on end and abutting one another, side by side. The end of each wood piece is 1-3/4” long and 1-1/2” wide. These rectangular ends of the wood strips form the surface of the block and provide an intriguing glimpse of small cross sections of the maple tree’s growth rings. The checkerboard pattern that results adds stunning character to kitchens. Not only is the cutting surface mesmerizing to the eye, it’s also forgiving on sharp blades, since wood fibers readily absorb the sharp edges of knives, hatchets and cleavers.
This Reversible Cutting Block Comes with a Natural Oil Finish
This six-inch block happens to be reversible. So if one side becomes damp or soiled during use, simply turn it over to reveal a pristine surface. If you prefer, always use the same side until it shows signs of wear and tear, at which time you can begin to use the board’s pristine side. A natural oil finish is applied to the entire board at the Boos wood plant. The cutting board cream that’s used to moisturize and protect the wood contains mineral oil that seeps into the wood and seals its pores to prevent any fluids or microscopic material from making it past the wood's surface. To keep your block safe and looking great, you will need to re-oil it about once a month. For that reason, you might want to add Boos Mystery Oil or Boos Board Cream to your order. Don’t get caught without oil or cream on hand when you need it.

Nor does it pertain to wood products ordered unfinished. Neither Boos nor Butcher Block Co. will be liable for any loss or damage arising from use of products or for any consequential damages.
*Cutting into a Boos countertop (e.g., trimming its length or width or executing a miter cut or a cutout) will void the manufacturer's warranty.
Boos warrants that the exact length, width and thickness of any countertop will not vary from specifications by more than 1/8 of an inch.
