John Boos Mystery Oil Multi-Packs Containing 16-oz. bottles
Discerning chefs choose butcher block countertops and cutting boards. Not only are they more resistant to bacteria than plastic cutting surfaces, they're also easier on knives than is plastic, stainless steel or stone. Plus no other cutting surface adds beauty and warmth to kitchens like butcher block.
Butcher Block Oil from Boos & Co. - The Leading Name in Butcher Blocks
As the name suggests, Mystery Oil is a secret recipe. We do know though, that this natural formula is a blend of white mineral oil, carnauba wax and beeswax. Use it to replenish moisture lost through repeated washings and simple evaporation. Watch the oil soak into the wood, helping to seal it off from bacteria and other contaminants, keeping it safe for all varieties of food preparation and serving.
Re-oiling Butcher Blocks is Quick and Easy
Pour a generous amount on the surface to be treated. Spread the oil around using a clean cloth. Allow it to soak into the wood; be patient. Wipe off any excess oil with a cloth or paper towel. Boos recommends re-oiling butcher block surfaces every three to four weeks to keep them in tip-top condition.
Boos Oil Is Not Just for Cutting Boards and Butcher Blocks
Use it on wooden utensils and salad and mixing bowls for instance, to keep them from from drying and cracking. It will help keep them looking great and extend their useful lives.
